This is how we shall remember Venice as we leave this morning.
See, men ARE useful.
Our seats on our train for the next few hours. Seat-time for some more blogging.
Off the train and still at the train station Karen has located our free shuttle to Gardaland for tomorrow morning.
Our hotel, La Nuvola Albergo, for the next two nights is only 300 yards from the train station and from the shuttle bus to Gardaland, the amusement park we would be visiting for two days.
Our room for the night.
And our much too crowded bathroom. Yes, the bidet was immediately in front of the sink.
The veranda however was huge.
Off to lunch we went. We found a place on the water (go figure) and had pizza and tortellini.
Most of the shops were closed in this area because I think they borrowed the word SIESTA from Mexico. A lot of shops close between 1pm and 4pm. I'd show you a picture of a closed shop but what's the point?
This area we were in was the insides of an old fort. Surrounding us was this 20 foot high wall of concrete. Getting on top of the wall afforded some great photo opportunities.
We went back to the room for a bit before splitting a ham and cheese crepe for dinner (on the water, of course) and walking along the lake for a mile or so as the sun set.
You could rent these but what is noteworthy is that their beaches here are gravel.
OR if you had money you could rent some sand and an umbrella and chairs came with it.
