04-15 Final Day Disneyland Paris

I realize it is a bit late but let's talk about breakfast - European Style. Free breakfast was part of our room rate at the Sequoia Lodge at Disneyland Paris. Each morning we had the choice of the boring unthemed Beaver Creek room or the cool-stuff-all-over-the-walls Hunter's Grill area. They were right across the foyer from each other. We ate at Beaver Creek a couple of times because it was less busy.

The service was buffet style. They would show you to your table and you'd get right back up to get your food. Available things to eat: butter croissants (my personal favorite), danish with chocolate chips in them, regular bread (that you could magically turn into toast if you wanted to), small french baguettes, cold cereal (a French-variety of sugar smacks, cocoa krispies, special K, and frosted flakes), cheeses (gooda and badda), luncheon meats (ham, turkey, salami), a variety of yogurt flavors, and the usual drinks (coffee, milk, apple, orange, and pineapple). So there was plenty to choose from and always plenty available.

If you got there before 7:45am you were usually seated right away. The later it got the longer the line got, although the longest line we were in was only about 12 people. Most of the early birds were getting breakfast done with so they could take advantage of being able to get into the Park two hours before the General Public.

On a typical morning this is what Karen and I each had. Her cereal is Special K - just like at home. She has water. I have pineapple juice. She liked the apple yogurt. I've got two croissants, a slice of turkey, and some cheeses.

Oh, and we had to sleep somewhere so let's talk about our room accomodations. The room was nicely themed in the craftsman style. Those of you who have seen our upstairs bathroom remodel may remember the window that I framed out in the craftsman style. There were 2 double sized beds with duvets on them. Heck, maybe a picture or two would work better here.

A word about the bathtub. The heighth of the tub/shower is about 24" (slightly higher than my knee). I don't know how older people get into this thing. This isn't unusual either because our next hotel was the same way.

The only thing weird about the French toilet is that they hide the tank with the water in it in the wall - or else its magic.

It was 35 degrees on Sunday morning - our final full day going into Disneyland. We got up early for the Extra Magic Hours (2 hours early into the Park) specifically to ride Peter Pan (it is a notoriously slow moving line). It was closed when we got there and did not open until around 10am. So we went to Discoveryland and played Buzz Lightyear a couple of times then went around taking pictures of the few things we hadn't taken pictures of yet.

We happened to be close by when Peter Pan opened so we rode it a couple of times. We rode Big Thunder Mountain and Pirates of the Caribbean again and then we finally rode the train all the way around before leaving Disneyland for the last time THIS visit.

Today was also Laundry Day. OUR hotel did not have a washer and dryer so we had to pack our dirty clothes in a suitcase and take a 10 minute walk to the Cheyenne Hotel to use theirs. I brought my laptop along and managed to edit some pictures and write a blog day so it wasn't a complete waste of time.

Tonight we must pack up and get ready to leave on the 7:11am TGV train to Avignon where we will rent a car for 4 days while we tour around the French Riviera.
